In a cleverly argued case, five experts from retail, technology, finance and media concluded that AI had to be part of the consideration set for luxury marketers, retailers and professionals across sectors if they had to stay nimble and fighting fit to outrun competition.

An hourlong webinar hosted Oct. 9 by Luxury Roundtable CEO Mickey ALAM KHAN deliberated on issues such as why AI is key to luxury's future and use cases for the technology's adoption across luxury sectors. The panelists acknowledged the threats, but concluded the benefits far outweighed any negatives.

Attendees were also offered next-step tips on AI's embrace for customer acquisition, retention and reactivation.

The speaker panel comprised Yasmin Topia, CEO, Sociate; Tatiana Wolter-Ferguson, CEO, HEWI (hardlyeverwornit.com);

Giles Smith, former head of digital, customer and data technology, Selfridges, and former director of digital technology, Burberry;

Richard Kestenbaum, partner, Triangle Capital, and contributor, Forbes; and Brandon Holley, fashion advisor, ecommerce expert and former editor in chief.
